Ashbourne Internal Martial Arts Training Day (September 2026)

Offering you the chance to experience authentic Chinese martial arts, including: Tai Chi, Xingyi and Bagua, in an intensive day of practice.

Beginners and all levels welcome!

1 ½ Hours per discipline

£15 for 1 discipline, £25 for 2, £35 for 3

Xingyi - 9:00am, Bagua – 11:00am, Tai Chi – 1:30pm

Venue: Town Hall, 22 Market Place, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1ES

Ashbourne Internal Martial Arts Training Day (March 2026)

A big thank you to those that attended the March 26 IMA Day.

We covered the first four Xingyi Animals forms, along with the Xingyi Destructive Cycle (2-Man Drill), followed by the Bagua 8 Mother Palms, Single Palm and Double Palm Changes and their applications. We then finished Tai Chi 24 and a demo of some application ideas, to give meaning and feeling to the forms.

The students showed some great enthusiasm, and it is always refreshing for me, to impart some of the alternative systems and expand on Tai Chi.

Ashbourne Internal Martial Arts Training Day (September 2025)

Thank you to everyone that attended the September 2025 training day. We covered the Xingyi 5 Fist forms and Destructive Cycle two-man drills, Bagua 8 Mother Palms (changing direction with the same palm) and two-man versions, to improve understanding and application. And then the Tai Chi 24 Set, followed by Grasping the Sparrows Tail (4 Primary Hand Techniques) and a push hands drill, incorporating them in fixed step followed by a fast set version of the 24, and then continued the same process as before, to help free-up leg movement from the standard fixed step routine.

Thank you to everyone that attended the Ashbourne Internal Martial Arts Training Day March 2025, on Saturday the 15th March. The students showed a great willingness to learn, and appeared to benefit from seeing the relationship between the different systems. Please keep practicing with the accompanying videos in the Student Zone until the next time.
